When Repainting Is Not the Right Move Yet

Sometimes the honest answer is to wait or to fix something else first.

If wood trim or fascia has active rot, paint will seal moisture in rather than out. The carpentry comes first. If a roof or gutter is dumping water on one elevation, that gets corrected before we coat it. Painting over an active leak buys you one season.

If you are selling in a few weeks, a full exterior may not be the best use of the budget. Front elevation, trim and the front door often move the needle for less money. We will say so.
